St. Croix Weather by Month: Temps, Rain & Sea

St. Croix's weather is a narrow band with a rhythm section: highs range only from about 83°F in midwinter to about 88°F at summer's peak, the sea never leaves swimming temperature, and the real variables are rain timing and the trade wind. The numbers, plainly:

December – March

Highs around 83°F, nights in the low-to-mid 70s, sea near 80°F, humidity at its kindest and rain at its scarcest — February and March are typically the driest months of the year. The "Christmas winds" can blow fresh through the holidays, which the villa's east-facing verandas convert from nuisance to air conditioning.

April – June

A slow warm-up: highs edging to 85–86°F, the sea following into the low 80s, and mostly settled skies — a brief May shower season is normal. June usually stays gentle even as the official hurricane season opens on the first of the month.

July – August

Full summer: highs around 87–88°F, water around 83–84°F, and the Saharan dust hazes that periodically soften the horizon (and, as locals note, suppress storm formation while they linger). Showers run brief and warm; mornings are the beach's best hours.

September – November

The wet season proper and the hurricane peak — September and October carry the year's highest storm odds and much of its rain, usually in dramatic bursts between blue hours rather than gray weeks. November tapers toward winter's polish. The full risk picture lives in the hurricane guide.

The constants

Eleven-to-thirteen-hour days year-round; a UV index that outranks any mainland intuition (see what to pack); the trade wind from the east most of the year; and a sea that, in its coldest hour, is still warmer than New England's warmest. The villa faces sunrise and the breeze — the weather here is something the house was designed to hand you.
